Wednesday I was starting to run out of food so I headed to Hy-Vee to pick up a few supplies. My kids seem to be eating me out of house and home lately.
When I was heading into the store I noticed an older gentleman fiddling under the hood of his car.
I finished my shopping and headed back out to my car. The guy was still messing with his car and I could hear cuss words flying out from underneath the hood so I know thats not a good sign.
I asked him if he needed help! He signed and said yes...do you have jumper cables. I just happened to have a pair in my trunk. I told him yes and Id love to help him. His battery was dead and he couldnt figure out why.
I proceeded to move my car over near his so that we could get the deed done. We got his car started within the first few tries. The stern serious look on his face was gone, he was now smiling with relief. He thanked me a few times and offered me some money. I told him no thanks that I was just happuy that he was going to be able to go on his way!
He left with a smile and I think truthfully that he made my day more then I made his!
